Funny David Blaine parody

Posted by jen May 14th, 2007 in Video Funtime. 4 CommentsI dunno how someone makes the mental choice to get three of their friends to demonstrate their individual humping ’skillz’ atop an giant ottoman to some R&B music… then put it on youtube!
One commenter said it best. Three Puffs and a poof”.
I’d rate it NSFF (not safe for furniture), and not extremely comfortable to watch that poor ottoman get gang raped.

These guys are some of my new favorite “directors” on Youtube: Fourteen Days in a Civic
I’ve been working on my bead website, it’s a long haul, but once I’m done I’m turning long needed attention over here and redesigning verybigdesign.com. First order of business will be switching vbb to Wordpress, and moving it to verybigblog.com which I’ve been using merely as a redirect until now.

And this is some lovely local news that happened a few blocks away from my house.
Woman chokes and shoves her 73-year-old grandmother - I like that the police basically call her human garbage.
Awesome

And where was this four years ago?
1 CommentOk I admit it.
Posted by jen August 24th, 2006 in Video Funtime. 1 CommentUp late one night right before leaving on vacation I was YouTubing, somehow I ended up watching Lonelygirl15. Probably the most talked about (possibly) professionally fictious latchkey teenage drama-laden web cam girl with confusing boy problems ever. She’s had like a half a million hits, so I’m prolly late on this bandwagon.
I didn’t stop until I’d watched all her videos, and even some video reponses, and even subscribed to her videos so I would know when new ones were out. I’m 37 and watching this crap and I’m not sure why!
Some of it can only be defined as “charming” or “quirky”, but that’s not the hook, and I’m not sure what the hook is. There are many who have some very good points that suggest that Lonelygirl15 is a Fake. I’m not sure I care, really.
What I can’t figure out is what the purpose is. YouTube ad hits? Some viral lead-in to a TV show in the works? Music promotion? Musty dusty old Aleister Crowley booksales? Some brilliant yet subtle marketing scheme (and they’d have to be brilliant, because it’s pretty darn subtle if it’s there)? I’m not sure what product is on there other than pink feather boas and a goofy purple monkey handpuppet. It’s all very “interesting” and I’ll leave it at that. I think at this point I’m waiting around for the punchline.
Anyway, you google LonelyGirl15 you’ll come up with lots of stuff, conspiracies, and even I’m sure a bit of fanfic (that I will NOT go look to find to see if I’m right or wrong) and a crap load of blog and news articles, so I wont’ link death this. It’s out there if you are curious.
That all said I’m complelty disgusted withmyself that I’m not only following this debate but actually blogging it, but at a loss for anything else to post today, there you go.

And here is a video montage of some folks having too much fun in an IKEA.

Posted by jen May 23rd, 2006 in Odds & Ends, Video Funtime. 3 CommentsGlobal warming my ass! The last month or so has been remarkably mild in Ohio. I dont think it’s gotten over 75 - most the time it’s been hovering around the 65 mark, sunny and clear and remarkably low humidity. Nights we’ve actuallly had frost! They got down to 40 last week.
Normally this time of year 70 would be the low temperature and I woudl have fired up the A/C a few times to move some air out of here. June usually is in the 80’s pretty early on, if not higher, then the rest of summer it’s hot and humid until September.
I have the huge front windows, as well as others, open nearly all day anymore, it’s been nice.
(Ginevra you have the BEST weather fore moving I’ve ever seen.)
Dear Gary,
I love you dog, you are my little spunky boy, but….
WHAT THE HELL do you have against me working in my office now? HUH? If I am in the livingroom goofing off you lay in bed all day and sleep like a lump. If I DARE go to the office to actually DO something you immediatly hop out of bed and bark your ass off to come in, then out, then in , then out. And If I ignore you you just bark until I end up screaming at you. Little bastard.
I’m sorry I ever taught you to bark to go out to begin with.
Jen

Mr Man is in Vegas right now. Left Saturday, back Friday. While he’s gone I plan on catching up on sewing costumes for the SCA, I can make a huge mess and sew all day which is how I like it. I’ll be online when Im not sewing (and even if I am) I have the IM up, so If anyone is bored, pull me up on IM and chat me up. I’m pretty bored and usually online.

Video Funtime:
There are lots of these movie mashups where you take a classic movie and do a video and edit it to look completly different genre, this one is I think the best so far.
This guy is one heck of a video editor.
The hateful asses who brought you “god hates fags” and other lovely thoughts like protests at funerals have made a lame disgusting and bad rip off of JibJab to spout thier evil hateful crap. I only link it becasue it’s so astounding that living human beings made it. If anyone needs a killin’, it’s these guys. It’s offensive, in so many ways. There’s no one they don’t seem to hate.
3 CommentsSpeaking of Star Wars
Posted by jen May 12th, 2006 in Video Funtime. 3 CommentsOriginal scene cut from teh first Star Wars, no joke.
“This is a rare deleted scene from “
tar Wars: A New Hope”. When Luke sees the Star Distroyer attacking Leia’s ship high above the planet he races off to Anchorhead to tell his friends. When he arrives he finds his best friend Biggs is back for a visit. The two reconnect and Biggs tells Luke he’s going off to join the rebellion. After this scene Luke goes home and helps his Uncle buy two new droids to replace the one that broke down at the beginning of this deleted sequence.”
The first scene is crap, but after it’s color and not too bad! Pretty neat gap filler explaining why Luke was SO happy to see Biggs. and I like the Luke in it, he’s far less whiny that what stayed off the cutting room floor, but his friends still treat him like the little prat we all know him to be, heh.

Posted by jen April 17th, 2006 in Video Funtime. 3 CommentsSchool video project presenting the theology of the church of Scyentuhlogee (spelled wrong to hide from lawsuit). Sadly, it’s all true. That IS the actual backing theology when you are founded by a hack scifi writer who wants to make some money.
AND - Two words you thougth you’d never hear together: Juggler Fight!
Jason Garfield duplicates the now internet famous Beatles juggling routine by Chris Bliss, and disses it with superior juggling skill. Garfield does the same routine - but with five balls.
Sure, five balls is more complicated, but it doesn’t fit the music as well. The beauty of Bliss’s act was how it WORKED with the music, since, well he designed the act around it. Throwing more balls in it unbalances that act. In several places there are single piano notes/chords and not having equal sets of balls (say 6) really does little more than say “I’m a oneupper” and confuses the eye.
