Popped my podcast cherry
Posted by jen April 5th, 2008 in Diversions. 1 Comment
Due to the bet with Ged and Dave I have (chose President Roslin) been drug into the world of podcasting (and only 4 years after it was really popular!)
We all ‘called’ each other on Skype (my first time, double virgin, booyah!) and shared our theories on…. the current state of Battlestar Galactica.
It’s not a big scary podcast like some, it’s edited down to a clean 13 minutes versus the 60+ it was in reality – with far less rambling.
Okay i’ll take it back
Posted by jen December 22nd, 2007 in Diversions. ClosedThe new Duran album isn't all bad, I'm kinda bustin' a move here. And Falling down is pretty good. Not Astronaut or Wedding Album good, but better than okay.
But I still mean it about the bass. Hello? Where is it?
(BTW, if you have it the chorus of Night Runner totally sounds like Simon's saying "knight butter", I know some folk who would buy that.)
Ah, scamming the scammer
Posted by jen February 18th, 2007 in Diversions. 1 CommentThe story begins: Nigerian email spam arrives in inbox… the reciever, a operator of a anti-nigerigan email scam website, decides to have some fun. I haven’t laughed so hard in ages.
It’s two pages of torture of the scammer, skim if you have to but GET TO THE END OF PAGE TWO and watch the video. You won’t belive the whole story if you didn’t see it all in order.
OH yeah more more thing.. PUPPIES!
Posted by jen February 3rd, 2007 in Diversions. ClosedDave reminded me today – Superbowl Sunday means PUPPY BOWL!!!
PUPPY BOWL III will air on Animal Planet tomorrow 3pm for three hours, then repeat at 6pm, 9pm and 12am.
And what ever you do – don’t miss the Kitten half time show!
How to blow an afternoon

I suggest heading into the archives and go category by category… and kiss the rest of the day away.
They want HOW Much for that?
Posted by jen December 21st, 2006 in Diversions, Ear Crap. 1 CommentDallas Food – What’s Noka Worth?has some some scathing remarks, and more than a few made me laugh.
To think anyone could do a 1800% mark up on chocolate… I’m pretty much sure it’s a Sin worthy of the lowest levels of hell. The one where goats to naughty things to your innards.
But interesting read on the value of hype – and how the chocolate industry works.
In other news, I have a “thing” in my ear just inside the ear canal, I can just feel it with my finger. I thought it was just a pimple, but it’s not going away and it’s sore. Week two. So now I have to take a half day off or something (of my new job) and head down to Kenwood to my ear doctor. It’s probably cancer knowing my luck.
You Tube Monday
Posted by jen September 25th, 2006 in Diversions, Jen Likes TV. ClosedOk a quick smattering for LG15 watchers, I somehow m issed them mybe you did too…:
Lonelygirl15 (and freinds) interview on MTV (part I, part II, part III) and CNN
Forget mentos and Coke… try other combinations! (check out their other videos especially the Emmy one…
The decription of Part one says”This is a pilot produced for the WB by the writers of Scrubs and Family Guy. it’s very funny, very different, and deserves to be seen by all.” Looks like it was supposed to run last year, no idea if it did. It’s weird enough I just might.
Indeed, anything by the minds behind Scrubs is worth a watch. That show is hilarious! (and on Comedy central M-F at 7 now! Great time for you slackers who never caught on to watch).
PC man

PC from the Apple ads, on the left of course, is named John Hodgman and as well as being on The Daily Show is an author and on a book tour with infamous internet songwriter Jonathon Coulton (only coastal dwellers will be so lucky), he also has a blog and is keeper of the 700 Hobo Project and one hell of a funny dude.
And now, for something completely different…
Posted by funkyblue August 18th, 2006 in Diversions. ClosedI told Jen I’d post something for her while she was gone and I know I’ve been slacking… And late…
So without further ado – A Beaver Waving a Flag.
She’ll be so proud of me.
Bad fashion victim of the week
Posted by jen May 4th, 2006 in Diversions. 2 CommentsAgain from the frightening Wardrobe remix flickr pool – No I can’t seem to stop gawping at it… I bring you Melovescookies – a flying horrid fashion doll. She’s adopted the habit of posting her daily oddball outfits while jumping, sprawled upside down, hanging from walls, doing cartwheels or swinging like a bat.

And best of all her set of fashion don’ts is two two two pages long.
Bag Whores’R'Us
Posted by jen April 29th, 2006 in Diversions. 1 CommentL.L.Bean is now making custom bags in all sort of colors, and the duffles even have some nice hawaiian prints. Prices aren’t bad either.
I’ve just spent an hour playing around, oh for $50 or $60 of guilt free blowing money.

Bad Fashionistas
Posted by jen April 22nd, 2006 in Diversions. 6 CommentsThe wardrobe_remix Pool on Flickr describes itself:
how do *you* put it together? where did you get that item of clothing from? is there a story behind something you wear? a reason why you wear specific styles or types of clothing, or a particular item all the time?
All I see is “people working hard to dress REALLY badly”. Who knew that homely lady at the office or living on the corner was on Flickr showing her groove thing! Some of these outfits are simply awful. Ug! Truly Davezilla Freakwatchers awful. And I didn’t really look that hard to find these! This is just like on the first three pages of the pool!
so be sure to click the pics for all the “fashionable” pain…
Hidden gems on flickr I tell ya, good enough to keep you laughing all through your lunchtime. (I did notice though that a major portion of these chics in the pool are from London… So much for the so-called rise of British fashion.)
And, I’m sorry to those I’ve picked out and the other hundreds of other offenders (simply too many to put here), as much as the tv show fashion gurus try to sell skirts over pants as being cuting edge hip and now, it just makes you look like a crazy cat lady.
If you want a fugly bag to “go with” that godawful fugly outfit try this pool…
Best. 404. Evar.

The Reading Room

Jeb Bush Asked to Explain Cruise Ship Deal
Rolling Stone: Inside Scientology: Unlocking the complex code of America’s most mysterious religion
After all that difficult thoughtful crap you you might need a laugh. Anymore, this one is sadly fitting of my life as of late.

Move over Dawn and Drew
Posted by jen December 22nd, 2005 in Diversions. ClosedI love you guys, I do. But the Ricky Gervais podcast is a riot. I’m sorry.
If you like british humor, excuse me… humour you’ll die laughing. It’s just three brit guys chatting and screaming and telling bad jokes, and it’s complete madness.
I’ve read worse fanfic
Posted by jen November 29th, 2005 in Diversions. Closedor maybe not… Look at the George Lucas-esque bumbling of the best fiction writers out there who get paid for this stuff.
And that is #28596753 of things that you will never see in the US mainstream press. And we’re so “free” eh?
Creepy flash fun

Use your mouse to haul this creepy dead chic all over the screen. I like to cram her into tiny crevices, like the real bodies I have to hide.
