(BTW I just figured out it was Naomi Campbell dancing with the lizards in the Vitamin Water Thriller Commercial.) 

In a conversation on IM with Gedeon from the Iconfactory, we ended up betting one who we thought the last cylon was. We of course think the other is frakkin' nuts. More are joining in, but the rules are simple, you can't pick anyone already outed, or someone who another player is guessing.

Ged said Baltar. Dave said Starbuck. Both are seriously in need of some decent meds.

Baltar is too self serving to be be anything but a (albeit crazy) human. And Starbuck? Dave only just watched the last season finally and to be blunt, we all thought it was Starbuck the day after we first saw it. Time has changed our viewpoints. Starbuck being a cylon is SO 2007. 

So I was torn on who I thought it was. Mr Man said his guess is it's someone we've never seen before at all and we're all just assuming it's someone we know.  Not a bad outside the box guess, but I have to win a bet with a NAME.

Now the picture above has certainly sparked some major discussions. Moore is said to have set the shot with clues, one of which is that the missing seat is for the last cylon and those AT the able are NOT CYLONS. Now, he's also been known to lie through his teeth to protect the storyline's secrecy like "tarbuck' s dead." I do think Starbuck died, but some kind Jesus-type ressurection happened.

To be frank, I have two contenders, one is in the pic, and one is not. – the first of those being Ellen Tigh. 

I know I know, 'we already know she's not a cylon!' Do we? She as one of the first tested, really before he had it throughly worked out. Sure she died – so what? We should know by now that death is a hiccup to a cylon. 

She was possibly the most conniving, disloyal and deceptive and manipulative whores er characters on the show. She colluded with the Cylons to free Tigh when he was captured…  and Tigh killed her for it.  He about killed himself for doing it, the same Tigh who we found out IS a cylon. It shocked us as much as it shocked him. The cylons don't know who the five are, the five just only found out – so who's to say Ellen's not?  I think even maybe she's a earlier version of 6. 

She was the first person everyone thought of as a cylon, maybe everyone was right.  Look how Tigh is looking at that empty chair in the last supper above.

How the HELL is Tigh a cylon, and that cow wife his wasn't? I can't think of a reason why when Adama has known  him for a generation. We'll find out soon enough how THAT goes.

Why I want her to be it: She was the one we all loved to hate. Her coming back would be one hell of a shocker to most (not me!) Screaming "I knew it! I Knew it!" will be heard around the world when she first reappears. It would also be fun to see how much more evil and fucked up she can possibly get.

Why I don't: Just another way for her to completely fuck with Tigh's head again, but then I guess they really DO deserve each other.

Who am I going with for the bet? President Laura Roslin.

In the last Supper pic she's burning something (the word is she's caught burning something vital in the next season).

Stick with me for a minute here before you go screaming "BUT… but, she HAS CANCER!  She CAN'T  be a cylon!"  Who said Cylons can't have cancer?

Anders had pneumonia. Sharon got pregnant. Tyrol fathered a child. Cavel appears to have had bad acne. Gina Six has suffered mental trauma while tortured and repeatedly raped. Leoben has a bad haircut. Tigh's eye didn't regenerate. They seem to suffer as humans, get the ailments humans get. Who says cancer isn't one of them?

Roslin's job as a Education cabinnet member for the president beforeput her in the right place to be a great spy no one would suspect  – a meek schoolteacher come polictican. No one took her seriously. She would be perfect.

I'm betting it's that cancer coming back as to why she didn't activate. A dying model is useless, why activate  a defunct sleeper? Maybe the cancer shortcircuted something in the way of the switch.

Why I want her to be it:  I think she's the ONE that most people would NOT suspect. She's actually feared by other cyclons by her apparent penchant for airlocking them. She thinks nothing of killing them. There is a thinly veiled cold callousness in President Roslin wrapped under a warm fuzzy mask.

We've seen the weaknesses in the other models. Six is very emotionally insecure and vengeful. Sharon is more fragile, more easily swayed and corruptible – her model has changed alliances – both to and from the humans -  more than some people change underwear. D'Anna is a self destructive death addict and perhaps even paranoid – so desperate to find the truth she kills her self over again to get one little shread of info more, always chasing that one last high. A cylon form of auto-erotic asphyxiation? 

But Roslin, she's different. She's the strongest female on the show spiritually, emotionally and I think personally. She's taken every setback in stride, every change up without a flap and in style. Every plan has a backup. She worked hard to gain Adama's trust and moved from a unwelcome outsider to being his lover. She ended up to appear to be actually calling the shots to the resistance on new Caprica when she told them to do no more suicide bombings. But it was when she actually got people inline with her to fake Hera's death, hide her and basically be one of the only two people to know the truth, and yet monitor the baby up close on New Caprica that got me inkling that she might be a cylon.

I think that ability to engender such complete trust and yet make cold calcaulated decisions without blinking would make her a very dangerous cylon. So far I think her only weakness is that she has cancer.

Why I don't: I really like her and Adama together. I like her. It would destroy what little hope the humans have.

So there is my pick. Someone is welcome to take Ellen, someone should, I think it could easily be her as well, but he more I think about Roslin the more I convince myself.

Other predictions:

The one who activated the 5 is this new version of Six we're going to meet, word is she wants to unite the 12 models.

Roslin will kill Adama once and for all.

And now that he has a new album *I* have to endure him coming on everything from the Today Show to the Tonight Show hacking up old hairballs like Paradise By The Dashboard Light on camera with his hottie singer dujour (who normally wouldn’t talk to him) hanging all over him like a vestal virgin hopped up on Ecstasy.

I’m convinced Meatloaf sold his soul to the devil for the attention he gets.

I know the press it’s “scandalous” that people working in the state department were looking at passport files of the presidential candidates, but really, it’s a scandal how?

I see it as this, some contract workers do what anyone in a job that has access to information would do – looked someone up. Sure it wasn’t “right” but they didn’t take the info of what they found to the press it looks like. If they don’t want strangers looking at ciitizens passport files they need to NOT hire contractors, they need to lock those down. They need to do things differently.

I mean, if it was me, and I had some kind of access to all sorts of people… I know me, I would totally be looking up people I knew and if Hasselhoff was news that day I’d look him up for fun. I mean really, it’d kinda be like googling someone – only cooler. Would it be wrong? Oh yeah, but you know after you do the first one, the rush is gone and you’d do more. You know it.

Maybe it’s just me.

The one ep of sex and the city I see in my life, and it’s one with a familiar face. I worked in repertory theater in Santa Rosa with this guy in 1988. I was set and had a little crush on him. Mostly because he was cute, around 17.5 feet tall, and quite possibly gay, or bi, you know how California was in the late 1980’s… looks like he’s still a major stage guy. Not much more than that though.

Well IKEA is open! Opening was a madhouse, but it was fun. And exhausting, we froze our tushes off from the time we got there till we got inside. A bunch of pics up on flickr. Lots of folks came by to meet the patroness of OHIKEA.com, that was fun.

Tomorrow, the whole fam is meeting up to go to the store for the first time. Mom and Dad haven’t been to one before at all, so this should be interesting. Mr Man seems actually excited to go, he really enjoys shopping there. It’s gonna be a long day though. To get through painlessly as possible we’re showing up for breakfast and going through early as they open. Today I hear it was a madhouse, I’m trying to avoid it, but everyone really wanted to go shopping today. We’ll have to check out the AS-IS section first though.

I blog so rarely h ere anymore for some reason I found myslef wanting to sign this post with my name! Sorry i shodl be able to start blogging here more often now that the OHIKEA thing is played out.

This is IKEA WEEK, that’s right our store is opening so the past two weeks I’ve been in hustle mode. So hopefully in a few weeks it’ll be back to normal. Wednesday is the BIG day! In the mean time, run over to OHIKEA and keep up with all the news! I’ve been up to my eyeballs in it.

And of course we’re having a blizzard… just days before the IKEA camp-out was to happen… I had someone willing to take me to the Freinds and Family preview… and it got cancelled! ARGH! See my yard and dogs frolicking here.

In non-IKEA news… We got a new dishwasher finally and I think I’m in love with it, be sure to read the features on the link on the right. I might have to do a flickr photo expose on it just to show you. Three racks, two are adujustable up and down, the middle one is removeable, the botom one is for pots, pans and baking sheets etc… it cleans fabulously.
