Some bloggers are all up in arms over Target ignoring thier calls that the ad of a wintery dressed woman  doing a spread eagle on a giant target logo is essentially putting her crotch on the bulleye.

I think ShapingYouth, the blog in question, has crotch on the brain.

Target thinks so too as they've basically patted her on the head and scamper along as they don't deal wth bloggers. Which is frankly refreshing when so many retailers and corporations are going after bloggers for saying things, even nice things about them.

If you look at the pic, you get the message - she's making a snow angel not any sexual statements. If you've seen TV in the last five years you know Target seems to love to play with their logo. That's one of the things I love about them. They aren't afraid to break convention and have fun with their image. They have even successfully sold a line of pajamas and t-shirts scattered with the logo after customer demand for them after seeing them in a commericial.

As my friend Ginny said when I showed her this, "sometimes a snow angel is just a snow angel."

Exactly.  It's like demanding an apology from P&G because you think the Pringle's man is winking at you.

I’d never seen this Weird Al video before, and it took me three viewings to catch that every line was a palindrome. What a freaking genius.

Al’s recently added like 25 more videos to his YouTube account, time to fall in love all over again.

So - I helped Mark Malkoff Lives In IKEA happen.

Here’s the story:

Back in like fall I got a letter from The Colbert Report. I’m like, uh okay… it’s this guy Mark and he thinks I look like someone who knows people at IKEA and wants to know if he can get one off me because he’s made high profile web videos before and has a cunning plan for an IKEA Video. Well as it hapens, I do “know” people at IKEA, big people in the PR department no less. So I hook them up.

Mark thanks me by offering tickets to The Colbert Report, where he works as a audience coordinator, I say well I can’t go to NYC right now but a close friend of mine just moved to Connecticut and it would make his freaking year. So Mark sets it all up - then mere days before my pal is to go to the show, with VIP tickets no less, the Writer’s Strike hits. No show. Mark is a super nice guy and assures me when the show is back on he’ll get my pal set up again. Cool! (If I ever get the chance to go I hope Mark is still working there to set ME up!)

So anyway, Mark wrote me again last week and slipped me the secret he had planned. To live in IKEA for a week and post videos daily. And they let him!

You might have seen the news, it’s been reported everywhere.

I’ve seen all the posted videos so far and they are GREAT, they really are playing along so well. It’s so nice to see a company with a sense of humor for a change. They saw this for what it was! A great PR op - and kudos to them!

Sadly, Mark’s expedition is over now, his journey ended at midnight. I am anxiously waiting for the last days videos.

Anyway, as it happens, one of my readers on OHIKEA is a manager at the Paramaus NJ IKEA, the very same store Mark was living in. He’s gotten me his autograph, and is on request going to try to get me the autograph of the Security guy Jarvis and the cashier. If you watch the videos you’ll have to agree that’s awesome as hell!

Hopefully more than one as I need another contest OHIKEA right now and I’d be heartbroken to give it up.

If Hilary gets the nomination it won’t matter what pedophile crossdressing priest the republicans put up - he’ll win. IF she wins it’ll be four years of her battling on the republican front with more of the same anti-clinton agenda. I just don’t know how she’ll get anything done when being attacked on all sides. I really think it’s time for a clean slate after the last 16 years.

I don’t think Obama can get the crossover/moderate voters like McCain could, and I doubt he can carry the south.

I think McCain could win against any democrat if he gets the nod, but any other republican will have a fight on their hands. McCain is more likeable by the left and independants, of the republicans that is.

And can I say for the record that the democrats shunning the Michigan Primaries to me seems to be petty considering Michigan was one of the few democratic states they had in the last election, certainly one o the only ones in the Midwest. Way to go Dems. It’s called rolling with the punches, look it up.

Craig posted the same release from a guy he knows from the Colbert Show - the same one that contacted me about getting an ikea contact to do this thing - and I linked his post, he got the trackback of my post and thanked me for the link… Holy Cow!

And we emailed a couple times after too! Can I say I know him now????

Now they are suing someone who ripped CDs he bought to his computer. Not eve seeing anything about him giving aay copies, or anything.. just importing them into mp3 format.

I have to wonder how far this battle would have gone under a non-facist president in a country ready to criminalize everyone but those responsible for anything…

I had seen this on the jibjab site, but ged found it on YouTube which is better I think since you can pause and rewind it to catch all the little things you might miss otherwise.

The jibjab guys appear to be going commercial now, with “sendable” cards you can put your own faces in for emailing, and it has/will have a fee involved wit some of them. But they aren’t bad… just not sure I know enough people, or have pictures of them, for most of them…
