Posted by jen December 21st, 2007 in Bitch Session.Freakin' morons at Etsy have set thier server-side image handling application convert your store graphic file to jpg format and reduce quality to somewhere around 35 no matter what file size or type you upload. Even if it's smaller than the size it converts to. It made my nice crisp and clear graphic all schmutzy and look like such crap that I ended up replacing it.
I have given this affliction a name: "Jpeggery".
That's right. I just made jpeg into in a verb.
Go me.

Wouldn’t that be a noun? And Jpeggering would be the verb?
How dumb, trying to save a little bandwidth and storage space at the expense of their clients looking good! Or maybe they’re just clueless.
Not surprising that they would make a questionable choice.
