What better way to promote your printing technique than promoting a design that looks like it’s covered in mold.

So we bought the Mr Man's mom's van, it's sweet, and as it's a full size van that ikea worthy and in MY name, I chose to get vanity license plates for it like the other two cars. (The truck we're selling soon). What did I choose?

Oh yes, and they arrived today in the mail I'm as giddy as a little girl. Muhahahah! To top it all off I got the OKAY from IKEA to have them, I asked first and was told I "deserved it".

A couple days ago I contacted the company that makes the felt I use on my pincushions, sent some links, offered them the use of any pics they wanted for promotional stuff. I'm a big person for telling a company you enjoy their products. Well the marketing manager wrote back and made me an offer I can't refuse.

In exchange for several items few items for the  tradeshow tables , they will promote my work on the website, feature me as a 'designer', and have cards with my etsy store address, or whatever, next to my stuff at trade shows and they will "keep (me) happy in felt". Then he asked me or a wish list.

My happy felt box came today from them mere moments after the license plates. OMFG! it's 3 foot wide, 18" deep and is packed with as much as it will hold! And it was heavy! Over a dozen colors, some I needed, some new, and some sparkly, a bunch of printed patterns, even embossed patterns and some of the shaggy felt I don't have. I was expecting maybe a paper box of felt, and would have been happy with that. I got more felt than I have in my chest and I have a lot in my chest! My craftroom office is going to have to have a bookcase filled with felt now! Every shelf. Filled.

Thought I'd just post that for those who have the itch for kitsch like I do and who said they wanted some for themselves. 

Remember a few months ago I posted a pic saying that was collecting some tiny gumball machine saints from the grocery store? Well the collection is progressing.

Mr Man went to the store today and bought me $5 worth (not kidding) but he did manage to score me two of the four I needed for my set.

Then I looked on eBay and found a freaking of ton of the sets for one cheap money. DANG!  

Believe me it's cheaper to just buy the set all at once off ebay. But it's too late for me to stop now,  I'm only two away! Ahh!

While buying paint for Mr Man's "Man Cave" I saw a girl who looked like a buxom coal miner stroll by. Her skin, face, white tank top everything head to toe all completely covered in a black grime, like one giant walking smudge. Made me wonder what she did for a living. I'm betting steel plant.

The Mr Man Cave is progressing.

It's cleaned, spackled and sanded, and will be painted in the morning with a lovely darker neutral grey-teal shade. Manly but not too dark, garish or bright. He totally picked the color himself - of the chips I pulled for him after getting his colors wants. 

Once he's out  the office I can start on moving it around to make it MY CREATIVE STUDIO.  First off, my desk moves where his sits now. Books go into my closet shelves, and I can start emptying the dresser I used for pure junk storage and move in another bookcase for the felt containment to start. My paint color is staying, it's a periwinkle purple on two walls and a earthy coral on the other two. I am tempted to repaint the coral to a pretty sage green I have brand new in the can unused that I've had for a couple years and was intended for the hallway. It's not much of two walls, over the door, a 2 foot wide corner, a short wall, and over and around the closet. Descisions… be a nice updat and it wouldn't take much time.

We are so gonna have to paint this house to sell it. Barn red, purple & coral, turquise & granny smith green, navy, teal rooms. The only rooms we've not painted at this point are the hallway, backroom (did the floor) and kitchen (which needs it!).

Okay I know it's a boring post for most of you, I'll try to get out more. 

Wow, has it been that long? I didn't even go to pennsic and I still had a  blogging vacation. Sheesh.

Okay so to sum up - Been busy with the new job, as well as pincushion commissions and  summer clean out/rearranging!

Mr Man got it in his craw that he wanted his own "room". We've stripped all the massive amounts of junk out of the modest sized spare guestroom (really needed done regardless) so it will become his  "man hole" as I call it now, an office/tool room covered with his pink floyd and vegas posters.

Which means that the office we currently share, larger than the guest room, will be MY room. Office/crafting/sewing/snowdome room here I come. I already have it kinda laid out in my head, I hope I have room for all of it. I'm REALLY excited. Always wanted a sewing/craft room. I'm campaigning for the sliding doors to the closet to come down, we'll see if I win.

It's going to be a long haul still, we have a TON Of crap to sort and separate further or give away, garage sale, but we'll get it done. We have bookcases filled with the junk we're keeping all over the house until we can get his junk out of MY room and into his and that's not happening until his room is painted this weekend. (I think it's gonna be a darker green or blue, though I'm trying to sell him on a caramel color.) Then I can start moving my room around and moving my bookcases and craft stuff in.

Pictures when I get it all done! And I plan on reshooting all my snowdomes for a  new flickr collection and point my domeorama.com domain to it.  I'm nuts. I have four boxes of domes I got from someone else and have no room for as it stands. I'll be adding shelves to the bookcases, for sure.

Oh yeah, one more thing, I turned 38 last week. 

Bah well it's late I need to get to bed, I promise not to be a stranger anymore.
