Crap that bugs me - #2,975

Songs where the singer puts the band name, thier name or that of thier featured cohort, in the lyrics.

Title of your album is okay, title of the song or in the lyrics - NOT okay. I hated it when Wang Chung did it, I hate it when rappers do it.

This begs the question - what is the past tense of Wang Chung? After all, if everyone is to Wang Chung tonight, how would you describe it at the water cooler the next morning? “Wang Chunged?” “Wanged Chung?”

And don’t get me started on the future subjunctive…

what about KMFDM. i think all of their songs have the band name in it…. but i’ve never liked them much, so your point is valid and respected by me. btw, love the blog!

Tenacious D does it, but I think they’re poking fun at the practice.

Solex. They put their name in every title of their songs.

    Again w/ the Babycakes… /sigh

So, but, what if it’s like an anthem song? Like, Iron Maiden’s song “Iron Maiden”… it’s like saying “Hey, this is who we are… we’re Iron Maiden… get to know us!” They’re just trying to be friendly, and here you are just crapping on them! That’s not very fair.
