Whew, he’s gone.
Posted by jen January 5th, 2006 in Jeneral.I love Mr Man, don’t get me wrong, and I like it when he’s off work, but when he is I get NOTHING done as far as design or blogging. Every time I sit down he’s asking for food/drink/task, or planning projects for us or work for me, or something!
I swear every time I tried to make an entry half way through his “slacker spidey sense” sense kicks in and he’d ask me to get/do/move/accomplish something or go somewhere and I’d have to get up and do it RIGHT then or suffer his whiny wrath. And if it’s not that it’s all the napping. Also, I swear he has a sixth sense for timing, he always manages to issue consecutive orders the SECOND my tush hits my chair and I have to get back up.
I will say we got a lot done this last 12 days or so, but man, I’m ready to be back alone in the house during the days on my own schedule. When I just think about what retirement will be like and I want to down some sleeping pills.
I have some logo and website work to do now, AND prepare and gather some of my medieval beadwork for a event this weekend. I’m going for “baronial arts champion” which even if you knew what it is it’s not a HUGE deal, just something I’ve always wanted and never lucked into.
And if that is not enough there is a postcard show this weekend in Columbus I wanted to go to and I have ohhhhh say 500 postcards I got an an auction I’m looking to unload. How I’ll do both I’m not sure, other than hopefully do the postcard thing on Sunday? (Fb, what ya say?)
The good news is the new bed is very very comfy. So much so I lay down, I fall asleep and I wake up with out a single ache. That’s it. See, I expected weeks of getting used to it due to have been on a waterbed for more than 20 years, and sleeping in a new bed on a different wall that was now a diff color with new curtains. I’m pleased to say it only took two days. Most of that was just the fact the room was so different now and I did the “Oh where am I, oh yeah” thing I do in hotels are crashing at other people’s houses.
This Simmons extra cushy pillowtop mattress is great and the bed itself is so nice that I’m completely getting bedroom freaky now. I have my first REAL bed, I bought a dust ruffle on ebay to match my sheets -A DUST RUFFLE - it’s my first ever. I’m not even sure how to put it on yet… I must be stopped.
Another thing I love about the new room is that with the new color and curtains the room even in the bright of day it is fairly dark. At night it’s made a huge difference since I live next to a 160 foot flaming nightlight at the steel plant next door. I’d always heard “sleep professionals” say you’d sleep better in a dark room, and boy howdy what a diff. So now, when I get a migraine, the bedroom will be a refuge not a painful torture cell as it was with it being so bright and the sun shining directly in my eyes. I don’t get migraines anywhere near as often as I used to before the deviated septum surgery, but time to time I still get them and this will be nice to lay down instead of holing up in the darker Tv friendly livingroom.
Anyway, the man is back at the software mines, so that means I might have more to post here as the length of this post demonstrates in spades.
