The nicest halloween in memory happened here - it was like 70 degrees and for once the perennial freezing rain held off till today. We hunkered down in the house with smarties, three kinds of KitKats two kinds of snicker and Butterfinger Crunches (DELISH!)
Guess how many kids we had. TWO.
And they came half way through. We said Ok, the next kids get HANDFULS of candy - and not one more came.
I just don’t get it. All you hear is how Halloween outsells Xmas for decorations and junk then I never see any kids. It’s all got to be 30-something folks like us decorating. The kids certainly don’t seem to care.
Speaking of Halloween: Anyone else she Ghost Hunter’s First Annual Special on Scifi last night?? THAT WAS SOME FREAKY SHIT! MAN! I’ll see if I can find videos online and share it.
In other news one of my pictures has been getting alot of notice, and even has been featured on Flickr’s Interestingness page. Not many of the pics get that attention. I was surprised to see it come up when I was in the explore section.
I got mom on flickr now too, even gifted her a pro account since she has been scanning in all the family photos, has no place to put them and needs a easy way to upload images for her webpage and you can upload via email to flickr! She loves it thus far, and even finally clicked with her website and actually adding posts and stuff. She’s decided not to share the account with dad, which I think is funny.
Oh and a new thing - I set the VBB girl to have rotating shirts since I always forget to change her. They are all Black for now but in time that’ll change as I alter a bit more, not right away. This was a 10 minute thing I decided to do while watching tv. She’ll have a vacation shirt or two on while I’m in vegas, and maybe a xmas wardrobe. I can swap inthe code what folder I want it to grab from so this could be fun.

Vegas? I’m going to Vegas… When are you going to Vegas?
We only had one set of trick-or-treaters too. I’m glad that we decided to not buy candy based on years past because I really don’t need it. My sister who is in AZ only had a couple of kids come also. I talked about it at work last night (yeah for being at work on Halloween night.) and other people said that they normally don’t get many either. It’s an epidemic! I’m sad that kids aren’t trick-or-treating.
We got a decent amount of kids. But we have 2 of our own and I think that might make a difference. I went out with the kids and they skipped a lot of houses in our neighborhood, preferring to walk past houses where they didn’t know anybody and visited houses where their friends and acquaintances live. When I was a kid I remember being a lot more systematic about Halloween, hitting every single house in the neighborhood and getting absolutely as much candy as I could. But that might just be my subjective recall.
last night’s weather was sooooo nice.
the freakiest part about ghost hunters was when they played the footage of the shadow moving around in that basement, and sped it up! it was scary enough, why did they have to speed it up?!
ahhhh!!!
