President Nero
Posted by jen August 31st, 2005 in Media Junkie. In a scene like of Rome’s fires… Bush fiddles while New Orleans floods.
He also announced today he was finally calling his vacation short after it became obvious the country is growing spiteful of the month long photo ops when there’s actual work to be done, oh what work that has to deal with being compassionate and he’d have to act like he meant it? Oh no… he can’t act his way out of a dixie cup.
And gee the south, his red south, is underwater. New Orleans is under more water than Venice, Italy. Martial law has been declared in parts of Lousiana Oh boy I wish we had some oh, say National Guardsmen to oh… GUARD. Oh that’s right, we don’t need Guardsman over here to fulfill the reason they were founded (to guard the nation while the armed forces are elsewhere). And where is Bush? In Crawford. He’s freaking next door in Texas and can’t be bothered to even fly over the devastation until FRIDAY???
Maybe we could call in the reserves to help out down south and keep the peace… Oh wait…
I’m about ready to find the local Canadian Embassy and chain myself to the fence till they let me in.

This’ll be the last time I stick up for Dubya:
He wanted to visit and has been in contact with the appropiate persons, but the Mayor of NOLA and the Governor of Mississippi told him to stay away for a couple of days. This was reported on CNN.
They already are having a tough time with looting and everything else. Can’t say I don’t blame them for asking himto stay away for a while.
The link about cutting vacation short is from March 2005 and concerns the Schiavo case. One brain-dead woman versus thousands of people in peril. Hmmmmmmm. Guess it was more important to keep the vegetable alive than it is to help Louisiana. Wasn’t it the anti-Spock who said, “The needs of the few out way the needs of the many”?
Come on, Jen… go ahead and BLAME the president for the freakin’ hurricane. You know you want to…
Oh yeah, sure, its all Bush’s fault… he made that hurricane show up. Oh yeah, and thats right, you can lead the country better, have a higher education and um.. lets see.. a Life?
Make something of yourself other than sitting at home and playing with pixels and we will see who compares.
oh yeah… BYE!!! We don’t want your kind here anyhow…
Troll alert.
Oh yeah I’m a troll since I don’t agree with the leftist, non educated idiots. If you feel so strongly that you hate this nation.. then GET OUT.
Criticizing the President is different from hating the nation. And we are not leaving, because many of us leftist are leftist because we do LOVE this country. WE ARE GOING NOWHERE.
Criticism of a government official does not constitute hatred of this country. It’s quite the opposite, Red Rebel. Apathy is anti-America. Consider how and why our country was founded in the first place and why we have a little thing called free speech in the Bill of Rights. Should we live in a country where criticism of the government is forbidden and would land us in prison? If your answers is yes, perhaps you should move to Cuba. As the saying goes, I may not agree with what you say, but I support your right to say it. I also believe that the neo-cons, liberals, lefties, righties, middlins, red states, blue states and everyone in between can and should have intelligent and civil discourse. I think that the President can and should do a better job of responding to domestic amd international crisis. He’s got a history of delayed reaction–consider his response to 9/11 and theb Tsunami. In times likes this, I think we need a strong president, but also one who can show empathy and compassion. Instead of spreading vitriol and hate, why don’t we agree to disagree on politics and band together as Americans and take care of our own? The people hurt by Katrina need us. I’m donating to the Red Cross and will continue to support the “leftie” causes I believe in. I challenge you to do the same for the hurricane victims and the causes you believe in, instead wasting time and energy trolling. Peace, my fellow American.
I hope this doesn’t qualify as spam, but I just wanted to let anyone know that might be interested in donating to the Red Cross for hurricane relief that it is much, much easier to make a phone call to 1-800-HELP-NOW than it is to get on the website. Or you can donate via Amazon.com.
What an eloquent and intelligent response, Robin. Bravo!
