So, on my macmentor site some of the guys were trying to best each other with how many free song iTunes Pepsi caps they have gotten, one said five, another 7… I had to finally announce my total, and its actually grown a few in the past two days… 120.
That’s not a typo, one hundred and twenty caps. A few have come from friends, but mostly they come from my dad who gives me three to seven a day from the guys at his night shift job in a hot machine factory - oh hell yeah. A few days I hit the daily limit of ten and had to save a few for the next day. At this point I want to hit the 200 cap account limit, oh yeaaaah. Just to say I did.
Have I won an iPod mini? Nooooope. No fair! (If I win one it’s going to my Mom).
Now, 50 are in my account right now just waiting to be spent. I’m gifting them to Mr Man so he can pick some god awful 80’s heavy metal and hair bands so he has a playlist of his own. See? I share!
So, how many caps has you gotten?
9 CommentsAuction day!
Posted by jen March 26th, 2005 in Jeneral. 2 CommentsGot the word a bit ago, the pendant sold today for $1400. Less than I was hoping (which was $2500 then I’d have had enough to buy a new mac) and less than appraised but I’m nonetheless thrilled about it as it sold to the Maine Historical Society.
It’s a perfect home for it as it’s returned in the town where it lived oh so long ago back in heat of the revolutionary war. I am happy a museum got it instead of a private collector as I know it’ll be taken care of for all time. The MHS also has a great site with many items available online.
Who knows, maybe I’ll get up there someday and I can visit it.
(PS: If I do get a mac using this money, I’m naming it “Mercy”. Read the pendant link if you don’t know why.)

Posted by jen March 24th, 2005 in Jeneral. 3 CommentsSo I went and decided to get a Flickr account. yeah i know I already have a kickass gallery So if you flickr too, I guess you can invite me into something, not sure what, so give it a try. Interested in trying this out some more see all the whistles and bells.
I like what I see there, little easier than my kickass gallery and that’s pretty darned easy. I dunno if I am gonna make a full fledged jump but I put up some of my my favorites, we’ll see. Be nice to have the free space I think on my server. But so far it’s not taking too much.
Go take a look, leave some comments or something.
Oh yeah and I have the beginning stages of pneumonia again, but I AM going to Duran Duran damnit! I caught it early, so no biggie now that I have some supa strong antibiotics. I’ll be fine by Tuesday.
Auction is saturday, I can’t wait!

I think that Sam Simon needs to be called as a prosecution witness.

Posted by jen March 24th, 2005 in Media Junkie. 1 CommentPress conference with two of the tribal high schoolers in Minnesota who were shot by a stuent there this week.
Whoever the reporter is that asked this needs to be fired, and hit over the head with a brick:
“Your friends that were killed… who were they and what did they mean to you?”
You’re NOT asking an adult moron! You’re asking a 15 year old, teenagers have a much more tenuous grasp on this kind of stuff. Get a freaking clue.
As if that wasn’t enough, when they’d ask something the kid didn’t want to answer or talk about, the adult woudl echo them and then another reporter would ask again!
1 CommentSomeone listened to too much Morrisey growing up
Posted by jen March 24th, 2005 in Linkage. 0 CommentsBut evidentially didn’t get right… Jens Lekman’s album at the iTunes Store just makes me morose from apapthy, especially with monotonic odes to the Gothenburg riots.
The rest of the clips are equally just whiny I think.

Posted by jen March 21st, 2005 in Jen@TheMovies. 1 CommentGot The Incredibles DVD last night, it has some killer easter eggs in it, some of them are as much as three levels down. Be SURE to watch the egg of the movie acted out in sock puppets.
Also, it’s not an egg, but it is quite possibly one of the funniest things on the set. It’s on disk 2 in the Top secret section, first you see “Mr Incredible and pals”, then next to it is “Mr Incredible and pals with commentary”.
Now I am not a big commentary person, but I chose it anyway as it wasn’t a long thing and I’m happy I did, it’s hilarious! It’s Mr Incredible (Craig T Nelson) and Frozone (Sam Jackson) doing the commentary (in character) over the previous segment (a “lost” episode of “Mr Incredible and pals” from way long ago) and let’s just say Frozone is seeig it for the first time and less then happy with the results. If you like Sam Jackson when he’s going off, you will LOVE this. So funny.

1 CommentIt came from the 70’s
Posted by jen March 20th, 2005 in Jeneral. 0 CommentsScary, scary awful pictures from the 1971 Sears Catalog
Also speaking of scary: the 70’s the new Fox Comedy sketch show from Kelsey Grammer - non-ironically called “The Sketch Show” - is absolutely, irreparably, and miserably awful in that way that all late 60’s/early 70’s skit shows were awful.
Sonny & Cher show awful. Laugh-In awful. Yes, even perhaps Glen Campbell Show awful. THAT awful. if I could tell Tivo 10 thumbs down instead of just the 3 I would.
I would blame this on a laspe of reason due to a drunken binge, but Grammer is known for finally kicking the habit after a few turns in rehab, pity that. Kelsey was funnier when he drank.

Posted by jen March 20th, 2005 in Uncategorized. 1 CommentOk, so it’s time for my bi-annual laptop mouse hunt… what I am looking for and cannot find:
1: Optical mouse:
2: Either corded retractable or cordless with the little usb hard plastic nubbie, NOT a wired broadcast unit. I don’t care if it’s retractable, I’d prefer one less thing to supply batteries for since I mostly use the laptop in the livingroom and it’s always plugged in so concern with laptop battery life is a non-issue.
3: Two buttons and scroll wheel - I’m a mac user, not stupid.
4: NOT FREAKING TINY! All I can find of the above are like 1/3 scale mice. They don’t make a full sized retractable? Why not? Small mice make my man hands cramp.
If anyone reading knows of model that fits the bill - please comment and let me know. Alternatly if anyone knows of a short corded two button scroll optical mouse I will consider it as well I hate long cords on my laptop mice, and spend more time than I should reigning it in.

Posted by jen March 19th, 2005 in Jeneral. 3 CommentsAfter being hit by a long range trackback spam attack, I went into blacklist and after killing the bad tracks I went into comments because I had a few hand adds there, and uh…. accidentally forgot everything from the previous screen.
Yup. I, inspired genius for the ages that I am, reversed proper procedure and checked OFF the ones I wanted to kill and kept the good comments checked ON, oooops. I lost the 25 last comments. Then I had to go back and tempt fate once more to get rid of the ones I MEANT to get rid of. Just stop laughing will ya?
This is what I get for trying to do this first thing in the morning with company over.
So if your comment is now lost, uh, say it again!
Or better yet this makes this post a ROLL CALL!:
