Mr Man is looking up tourism sites for France. The might win another award this year and the International shindig is in Paris this year (two years ago we went to London on their dime when he won last time).
Not that we want to GO to France, of course. I ONLY want to stay long enough to hop on a eurorail train to Germany. But being I could spend the whole Trip in the Louvre alone I could deal with THAT much of France - if I had to. He’s very anti-me-bailing-on-him-and-running-off-to-another-country-instead-for-a-week. Go figure.”
Finding a French Tourism site that even has English pages at all is pretty hard, and the one he found and is looking at now will only send you two brochures free. A third on costs you.
Accenté en Francais - repeat what we have been saying for ten minutes:
“No no no, you cannot be too interested in Paris, American!”

Lucky you! Even if you genuinely dislike the French, (and I suspect your anti French thing is mostly posture), Paris is just one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and you simply cannot fail to enjoy yourself there. Be warned though, it is easy to spend a quite humungous amount of money there very quickly, so find cheap/free things to do!
If you go I will try harder to suggest places, but off the top of my head, here are three of my favourites.
The Musee D’Orsay is probably my favourite of the big museums. The queues to get in at peak times can get rather long though
The Picasso Museum is a wonderful small museum. Prior to visiting it, however “important” he was, I did not actually like Picasso’s work at all, and it completely changed my view of him. An inspirational place.
The Brasserie Bofinger is one of the most beautiful historic restaurants in Paris, and the food there is marvellous too.
I know the Parisians are famously snotty and unfriendly, but I have always been treated well there. You will love it.
And although they want to try to sell you their guidebook, (which is actually quite a good one), this web site is pretty good
