1. Time-Warner is starting to impose bandwidth limitations of 15GB up/down per month. The bad part is they are forcing fees on high bandwidth users only. I’m not sure if this goes for thlink or AOL subscribers. Here’s a forum link with some comments from others who have gotten similar “love letters” in the mail:

The fee? For “my level of usage” I would be required to upgrade to Road Runner Xtreme. Besides my avoidance of anything denoted as “Extreme”, I refuse to pay the $90.00 a month price tag they want to impose without my acceptance or agreement. Better Business Bureau anyone?

Photograph freaks, arrange them into neat piles, put them on a web site that makes fun at the piles.

1 CommentChicken and Dumplings
Posted by jen April 28th, 2003 in GuestBlogger. 2 CommentsWhen I was a young lad of 17, my sweetht made her mother’s chicken and dumplings recipie for me. It was glorious. Dumplings beautifully tacky on the outside, all gluten and goodness. . light, fluffy and airy on the inside. A delicate white gravy draped over each. . The chicken itself grilled lightly with the classic veggies; carrots, onions and celery. Ah, it was marvelous. I’ve tried to replicate it since, but haven’t even come close.
I gave it a go again tonight. We had grilled chicken and glue balls for dinner. I must admit I was feeling brave; I hadn’t tried to prepare this recipie in years. Yet the results were the same. Dreadful.
I long for that wonderful dish. Does anyone have a good chickend and dumplings recipie? I’ll love you forever.

On the road for the sunny and hopefully storm-free shores of the Florida “Toto, this ain’t Las Vegas!” Keys. Two days in Key Largo, two days in Key West… and lots of dawdling between home and there and back.
If i survive this without Killing Mr Man (or Jimmy Buffet) it’ll be a good trip.
Ok, can I kill Jimmy Buffet anyway? I hate him soooo much!
I promise pictures when I get back as well as crappy pressies for a chosen few. If we have the time machine in owrking order we might be able to swing a visit with Ginevra/Karen and her Mr Man Godfrey/Jeff.
Guest bloggers, it’s all yours. Don’t break nuttin’.

Posted by jen April 25th, 2003 in Uncategorized. 0 CommentsI’ve asked a number of regular commenters to pitch in while I’m in the Florida Keys…
Shannon - to keep my Ohio-proud mojo flowing (Haaaang on Sloopy!)
RenGirl - with her sexy new iMac and her mind now free of MS contamination
FunkyBlue - my brother and a despicable diehard PC user, no lie. (I’m sure he’ll embarrass me somehow)
Ginevra - An Ohio-expatriate now living in Tampa against her will, she still craves all four species of Buckeyes (inedible nut, tree, candy and football team) and bleeds scarlet and grey on command. She also is a SCA person I know from online, and is well balanced despite it.
matt sledge - VERY local Alt radio god/hunk/squeaky toy and new mac convert. I bet I could hit him with a rock from here.
And last, but certainly not least - Dave - old buddy, divine mac , a new daddy, and Cape Cod’s unwitting prisoner.

What I love best is the movie poster - frelling brilliant. Inspired. You’ll see this movie poster in the design annuals.

1 April 2003 - 247
2 April 2003 - 218
3 April 2003 - 293
4 April 2003 - 156
Ok, normally I get about 100-150 hits a day. average… but I was looking at my stats and saw the numbers above and about died.
Can anyone tell me what the hell I was linked on on the dates (especially April 1-3) above that threw so many people here? It’s too late to get the results from the trackers to be able to tell me for sure.
Anyone come on those days from somehere else and still coming back? Can you tell me where you saw it? I like to send “thanks for the link” notes.

Posted by jen April 23rd, 2003 in Uncategorized. 2 CommentsI’ve been getting notes that people are nominating (writing in) PixelDecor in this years Webby Awards: People’s Voice in the “netart” category.
If you would like to pitch in as well, please do.
No chance in hell, but hey, worth a shot. I’m used to being a loser.
2 CommentsGramps: the followup…
Posted by jen April 23rd, 2003 in Uncategorized. 1 CommentAnimal control came to pick up Gramps. No one could take him and with the trip we couldn’t keep him, and kenneling while we were gone would have been a few hundred bucks after shots and immunizations just so they COULD kennel him.
The girl who walked him out said being his old and a sweetie he actually might get a new owner to watch over him.
He didn’t want picked up to get into the van, he got his front end up and the then we gave the back end a lift to get him in. He’s such a trooper.
I hope someone takes him.
