Posted by jen November 26th, 2002 in Uncategorized.McAfee alert on a new virus thingy out, not a virus perse, as you have to agree to be reamed, but in whats it does by your blindly opening “a greeting” for you and not using common sense. It gets your ok and sends everyone in your address books links to itself and a porno link, thus propagating.
I got my first one in the mail yesterday, as I tend to ignore greeting card emails anyway, I paid it no mind till mr man came home telling me how thier company was hit with it today and was busy all day with it.
I love having a mac, I can laugh at this crap and not live in f of it.

There is an interesting article about this thing here. While it is a wonderfully polite virus the interesting thing is that this is the first commercially produced virus. Another first for American enterprise! Good wholesome business ethics - doncha just love them!
You don’t have to live in fear of viruses with a PC. You just have to have some common sense. I can’t tell you how many people I know have opened up stuff like that. *slaps forehead* I”ve been lucky.. in over 10 years of owning PCs, I have yet to get a virus.

Hey, at least macs are pretty.
Just teasing.. I know macs have their uses, but what can I say.. I like getting down in the guts of my computer…being a Computer Science geek and all.
