Trick or treat!
Posted by jen October 31st, 2002 in Uncategorized.Eight kids, on Halloween. This is the downfall of American society I tell ya. At least my town does trick or treat ON Halloween, unlike some of the other pansy-arse burgs around here.
We live in a couldesac and it’s 2 blocks square. It’s branched off a main road, two streets a block in both directions. The other part of our street is across a large 4 lane road and goes for about 1/2 mile. No one seemed to crossed over from that side to this one this y. It was a pretty decent night for a change fro an Ohio Hallween. Cool, but not nut numbing cold, no rain, snow, sleet or hail.
Four bags of candy - eight kids. Lots of candy - and I can’t seem to give it away. Pitiful.
Good thing I bought candy I liked.

nice site you got here. happy halloween!
At least I didn’t get the parents trick-or-treating with infants in strollers - with their own bag for candies! Come on, A., your kid barely has teeth; B. If you’re old enough to make a baby, you’re responsible for your own candy procurement! Any god costumes?
Oops! I meant “good” costumes. Though it would be cool is a kid dressed like a god…

Just moved to a big town. Didn’t have any kids stop by
the costumes were weak too, one boy came in his peewee league football pads and uniform (cop out!) two sisters came in wigs with devil horns (one red, one blue), and one came as a kitty kat, and a not a good one.
The adults who collect for the two years olds in strollers, and the teenagers do not get to pick and get ONE piece of candy, ONE. I dont say know, we have a small nieghbor hood and I don’t want anything happening to my house or dogs. The older ones get two and get to pick.
The art of the creative costume is over. So apperantly are masks, and those costumes made of paper crap we used to wear.
I’ve always wanted to make it known I’ll have a contest my my house, winner gets a prize, everyone gets candy i get to pick the winner and you better put some effort into it.
I’d get three girls in ballerina outfits thier grandmas made I know it.
I drop one or two pieces of candy into the little ones’ candy sacks. Quantity depends on age of the trick or treater and how the candy supply is going in relation to time of evening. Since they hold the sacks open and look expectantly at me, I guess that’s how it’s done down here. The costumes were lame here this year, too. If I had to name the best costume, I suppose it would have to be the dead pimp!
Halloween in my current neighborhood is really sad — rude, pushy kids with no costumes and even ADULTS. WITH. NO. CHILDREN. The one glimmer of hope last year was a fairy princess escorted by her father. He stayed on the sidewalk and glowed, and when she turned to leave he called out, “what do we say?” She turned and curtseyed and lisped out “saank yoo.” Awww. I gave her extra candy.
I still can’t wait to move.
55 full size candy bars were goen from my house in less than two hours. I didn’t even get any leftovers. : (
The numbers keep dwindling! Each year we put together individual bags of candy with at least 6 pieces of candy. This year we put together 70 bags and only got 15 kids… total bummer. The last few kids got 3 bags each. At least we had some happy customers… It was kind of depressing too - some of the ‘kids’ were taller than me.
